Opened in 2001, the National Space Centre is a museum and educational resource dedicated to space science and astronomy, as well as a space research programme in partnership with the University of Leicester.
New Walk Museum and Art Gallery
The New Walk Museum and Art Gallery opened in 1849, and was one of the first public museums in the United Kingdom. Visitors to the museum can explore Ancient Egyptian and natural history collections, as well as 18th-20th century art.
Attenborough Arts Centre
The University of Leicester arts centre is located on Lancaster Road, operating as a multi-use venue with 120-seat performance area, studios, exhibition gallery and diverse programme. The centre is inspired by the work of filmmaker, actor and patron of the arts, Richard Attenborough.
