Commonly known as York Minster, the Cathedral of York is one of the largest of its kind in Northern Europe. The gothic cathedral has stained glass windows as well as an interactive Undercroft exhibition. Tower tours are also available.
York Castle is a 13th-century castle built on a grass mound that was formerly used as a prison and royal mint.

York Art Gallery is a public art gallery with a collection of paintings dating back to the 14th-century. With prints, watercolours, drawings and ceramics, the gallery is housed within an 1870s building.
