Whether you’ve booked to live with us already or just want to get informed beforehand, take a look below for all you need to know about paying your rent with us at Student Roost.

How do I pay my rent 1

Choose from our flexible payment plans

Here at Student Roost, we believe in being flexible. That means you get the choice on how you pay your rent.

You can choose from annual, termly and monthlyinstalments across the year and can pay online through your Student Roost account or in person by card at property. Find out more about how to pay online or in person.

*If you pay in monthly instalments, your total amount will be 2% more expensive than if you choose to pay in 1 or 4 instalments.

When do I need to pay?

If you've booked to live with us for the first time in one of our England, Wales or Northern Ireland properties, your first rent payment is due no later than 1st August if you have booked before this date. If you have booked after this date, it is due from the date of booking (please note the amount due will take 24 hours to appear on your Student Roost account).

If you've booked to live with us for the first time in one of our Scotland properties, your first rent payment will be due on the first date of your tenancy contract.

If you've rebooked to live with us for another year in ANY of our properties, your first rent payment will be due in August or September, depending on when you booked. You will be able to check your rent payment due date by logging into your account.

Please note, you will also be prompted to make an Advance Rent Payment at the point of booking at  one of our properties, excluding those based in Scotland. This payment is deducted from your last instalment and is not a payment made in addition to your total rent. Find out more in our guide to Advance Rent Payments.

Will my rent come out as a direct debit?

Rent does not come out of your bank automatically. You have to log on to your Student Roost account to set up your payment, or you can pay by card at reception. Payment by bank transfer is only permitted under special circumstances.

You will choose your payment plan when booking, allowing you to choose the option that feels best suited to you and your circumstances.
