Thinking of living in Newcastle uni accommodation? Discover the unmissable sights of the vibrant city you're looking to call your new home.
Some of the key areas for students are close to campuses, pubs and alternative nights out. Popular locations to soak up those student vibes include the city centre, Jesmond, Ouseburn, Sandyford and Heaton.
Whether you're into sport, culture or nightlife, you’ll find a wealth of activity right on the doorstep of your Newcastle student accommodation.
The beating heart of the city is perhaps Newcastle United football ground, St James' Park; whether you manage to see a game, attend a stadium tour or even view it from the outside, it’s definitely worth a visit to take it all in.
Something else which epitomises the determination and passion of the locals, is the famous Great North Run. The iconic half marathon makes its way around the city's celebrated landmarks in September. It’s a great spectator event, but you may even want to participate if running's your thing.
Feeling a fun night out? Newcastle’s famous strip of bars and clubs will have you dancing until the early hours. Newcastle is also home to a multitude of live music establishments including the Utilita Arena, the O2 Academy and the Sage Gateshead, playing host to some of the biggest artists around throughout the year.
If you're a lover of theatre, the Theatre Royal is just one esteemed venue among many where you can catch a must-see show. For more cultural inspiration, there are a number of galleries and museums to explore including a converted four mill on the Gateshead Quay, which displays a brilliant selection of contemporary art and other exhibits.
After all that exploration, you may want a dose of fresh air so take some time for a scenic walk along the beaches and beautiful landscapes of the North East’s coastline. Along the coastal paths, feast your eyes on iconic landmarks such as the Tynemouth Priory and Castle and St Mary’s lighthouse.
These are just some of the memory-making experiences you can enjoy when you venture out of the comfort of your Newcastle uni accommodation. Get ready!

Congratulations! You’ve got a place on a course through clearing and you’re going to university; but what happens next?
Well, the first thing you need to do is accept the offer of study sent to you by the university. You’ll need to do this via UCAS. Once this is done and it’s all confirmed, you’ll also need to let your student finance provider know if there are any changes to your original application, such as a change in the university you’re attending, the course you’re studying, and the length of the course.
It’s also important that you find and confirm your accommodation. Options for last minute accommodation can be limited, so let us help you take away the stress. At Student Roost, we have accommodation in 21 UK cities. Upgrade your student living and become a part of our student community.
