Samaritans
When life is difficult, Samaritans are here – day or night, 365 days a year. Call them for free on 116 123.
Having a tough time? We’re here for you and, beyond a friendly chat and advice, we’ll point you in the right direction to get the help you need, should you need it.
First year at uni? Or only lived in uni halls before? Whatever your situation, you’ve probably got some pressing questions (don’t forget to check out the FAQs in our Help Centre) and may be feeling some nervousness about moving into your new Roost.
Whatever your situation, here's some guidance to help you feel prepared before you make the move. We can’t wait for you to join us.
So, you’ve made the move and you’re living in your Roost. Is your uni experience not living up to what you thought it would be? Are you having a bad day, week or worse?
When you're struggling, it can feel difficult to reach out. When you do feel ready, we're here and we've got you.
Revision, deadlines, relationships, past trauma, exams... Sometimes, it all feels like a lot to carry. Behind every door, everyone has their own mental health journey. Let us help you support you on yours.
We’ve partnered with Chasing the Stigma to normalise the conversation around mental health. Whatever your journey looks like, we want you to know that it’s okay not to be okay and encourage you to reach out.
The Hub of Hope platform allows you to look for specific support from specialist charities and organisations, plus you can find university student services on there too.
You can download the app here and find out more information close to hand: look out for the poster behind, you guessed it, your door. We hope it helps.
Additional needs
At Student Roost, our properties proactively promote wellbeing, creating safe, inclusive environments where residents feel supported.
We recognise that for many of our residents, there may be additional queries regarding living at university with a health or development condition which may include physical and sensory impairments, learning disabilities or neurodiversity.
We want your time at Student Roost to be a great experience in a positive environment and any queries can be directed to the property manager or directly to our Resident Wellbeing team at [email protected], who will be happy to give any additional guidance or support.
We’ll always be available to offer support or signpost you to the right place. If you’re not feeling up to speaking face-to-face with a member of the team, please make sure you download the Hub of Hope app for a range of services. You’ll find extensive support available when you download the app, but we’ve also highlighted some helpful resources below if you need a direct line to further support or want to speak to someone.
